Resource of the Month: Gender Inclusive Ways to Address Students

Our resource of the month comes from Montclair Kimberley Academy (MKA) in Montclair, NJ. Teachers often ask for additional ways to address their students other than “boys and girls.” At the MKA Lower School Faculty Meeting, educators brainstormed gender-inclusive phrases for addressing students. The language they came up with suits their community, and as a result, teachers feel authentic when using these words and phrases.

Introduce this process in your upcoming Faculty Meeting. It will be 15 minutes well spent!
